Transfer of DTI Business Name Registration Center Speeds Up Transactions

From Buendia Avenue in Makati City, the Business Name Registration Center of the Department of Trade and Industry ? National Capital Region (DTI-NCR) has transferred to different locations. This initiative aims to facilitate faster processing of business name applications. Registrants can go to the DTI-NCR office nearest to them: Park n Ride Lawton in Manila (Beside LRT 1 Central Station and Metropolitan Theater), Highway 54 Plaza in Mandaluyong City (Across SM Megamall), and Trafalgar Plaza in Makati City. Soon to open by the second week of January is another office in Caloocan located at the Araneta Square Mall.

?In setting up area and satellite offices across Metro Manila, more clients are served in shorter span of time. Several clients have given feedback that this move eases the cost and effort of doing business,? Assistant Secretary Angel L. Pelayo said. Several clients have said that it was easier for them to go to the most accessible DTI-NCR offices in their location, instead of waiting for hours in one overcrowded registration center. ?This improvement is seen to give convenience to our business name registrants,? Pelayo said.

January is the month when most business owners register and renew their business names. This is because in general, renewal of business permits and licenses in local government units is held during the first two weeks of January. Part of the preparations of DTI-NCR for this season is adding more registration centers and enhancing the existing satellite offices. These satellite offices are located in the city halls of Quezon City and Valenzuela City.

Decentralizing the business name registration is one of DTI-NCR?s efforts in contributing to the elimination of red tape in the bureaucracy. It brings the regional office closer to its clients. ?Treat DTI-NCR as your ?kapit-bahay.? It?s just right across strategic places. We are continuously adding more options for our entrepreneurs,? Pelayo stressed.
